CHF licensed homes were created in response to the need to help depopulate the closing state-run hospitals for people with developmental disabilities. CHF helps keep the regional centers’ clients in their own catchment area. In our homes, the residents receive support and care for their specialized needs from our partner providers.

California Housing Foundation, along with the local regional center, choose homes in desirable neighborhoods. There is typically ample green space with good-sized backyards. The homes are well maintained and cared for.

Depending on the needs of the future residents, CHF works with local contractors to craft the accommodations to its homes. Whether it’s widened doorways, specific flooring, bathroom remodeling, electrical modifications, or lifts, we make sure the homes are ready to best serve our clients.
